See the following posting that's linked to from the Fusion Community home page: "The update server could not be resolved" error when checking for Fusion upgrades
At this time you'll need to use the workarounds noted in the posting to check for Fusion upgrades. Broadcom hasn't said if, how, or when in-product updates or update notifications will return to the desktop hypervisor (Fusion and Workstation) products.

Subject: checking for updates
part of my weekend maintenance is to check for updates.
i clicked on check for updates on VM fusion and it i get a immediate pop up saying
The update server could not be resolved.
Check your internet settings or contact your system administrator.
what i tried:
1. reboot
2. remove .ick files
3. redownload VM fusion
4. Turn off 3d accelerator
5. reduced cores
it is the most updated version. 13.6.3
i asked Chatgpt prior to posting and its apparent that this is a known issue among VM fusion.
is this a issue, or is it a low risk that should be ignored
