change resoulation in virtual machine

Hi

i want to change my virtual machine resolutions but when i select screen resolution from controll panel this message appear : The display setting can not be changed from a remote session . i have installed vmware tools

this message appear from console and remote

now how can i change my windows resolution  ?

There should be no difficulty in changing the resolution from a VMs console, but can you give more information like:

1. Is this a VM on ESX?

2. Which client are you using to connect (C#/Webclient)?

3. What's the guest OS, remote desktop host service running?

i used mstsc /console  for connect to virtual machine but in screen resolution this message appear (attached pic)

To change resolution for your remote desktop session, I think you should select it before starting the session, i.e. before you start the remote session, expand Options | Display | Display configuration.

To change the VMs resolution, connect to ESXi host, Open console of the VM from there and change the resolution the same way as above. Hope this helps.

If you are using the MSTSC to connect with your virtual machine then use " mstsc /console "  to change the setting.

This will fix your issue.
