  • 1.  Cannot customize esxi 4.1 u1 build 348481

    I have installed esxi 4.1 u1 build 348481 on a dell t3500. Everything installed fine. I can access my esx via the vsphere client on the network. I wanted to change the name of the server and add a another nic. I reboot my esx server and, then wait till it is fully up. At  gray screen that shows the ip address and such. I do not see the "hit F2 to customize". The previous version of esxi 4.1 had this. Am I missing something??

    Welcome to the Community,

    can you confirm you are looking at the yellow/gray screen? Please press ALT-F2 to see whether this changes anything. If not, post a screen shot/picture of the screen.

    Thanks!! I figured out the peoblem based on your reply. I had a copy of ESX installed instead of ESXI. I did a fresh install of ESXI and I was in business!!
