  • 1.  cannot create data store

    I have 0 VMware experience. Learning for the firstt time and it is a labb environment question.

    I installed VMware on my laptop with 250gb approx. and after installation, I can see a free space of 231.1gb. I cannot create a new datastore. It says cannot change host configuration.

    After searching, I found out that the whole space will be consumed by ESXi 6.7, so, I installed it on an external SSD. Now I can see both storages in devices but cannot see anything in datastore.

    When I try to create a new datastore, I still get the same error. Am I  doing something wrong?

    Hi,

    It is not really the best solution, that of installing esxi on the laptop. If you want to try using Esxi, install vmware workstation player on a computer running windows, and then create a virtual machine with Esxi operating system. Then you use it to create other virtual machines on Esxi. a kind of mini labs.
