Can you use P2V to clone a Linux machine? If you cannot do it natively, can I use Symantec Ghost to take an image of the machine, and then import that image using P2V? If not, is there anyway to convert a physical Linux machine into a virtual machine? Thanks for the assistance.

Ghost says it supports Linux partitions, but I think you have to cold boot from the Ghost CD in order to make the image as the program is Windows only. (I've never Ghosted a Linux partition so I can't say for certain.)

This thread has some info on how to virtualize a Linux machine.

You can use a number of tools including Converter to clone a Linux machine. However, you may need to manually configure the VM to make it bootable. This is typically done by booting up the VM using the Linux Installation CD in rescue mode and changing the SCSI and network drivers to the appropriate ones for a VMware VM.
