Backup Solution for SMB

Hi all,

Our company is planning to deploy a backup solution for their existing infra. and we are looking for

1. File and Email level backup - allow to restore individual Email or File

2. VM Image level backup - allow to restore a VM machine quickly

What is the ideally solution you guys come across and would like to share with me. Current I am looking at the Symantec Physcial Backup methodology.

1 Physcial server hosting 3 VMs (Free ESX 5.0) , all VM running Win 2008 R2

Box A - AD and File Server

Box B - Exchange

Box C - SQL Express

physical backup? which tool version?

I am planning to purchase the Symantec Backup Exec 2012 for the backup solution

1. I understand that Free VM do not support VM image backup so I am thinking to purchase a proper VM license for this case

Are you planning to use Symancte BE 2012, If yes i doubt if it supports backng up VM's on free version of ESX

As mentioned above, a lot of the more popular solutions are not compatible with the free version of ESXi since they utilize the vStorage APIs for Data Protection, which free ESXi does not have.
