    Dear Everyone,

We have a HA clustered VMware environment( ESXi 6.0u1 ), and we want to migrate a physical MS failover clustered application server to VMware cluster.

The application server is mission critical to us, so we need a high avaliability solution, that minimize the value of down time.

That i wrote before we used MS cluster, but i don't want to use MS cluster on VMware, because we can't use VMware's, and Veeam solutions like snapshot etc.

We backing up our VM's with VEEAM.

The Fault Tolerance, cause performance problems in our environment.

Do you have any idea, how can i provide the high avaliability? Best practice maybe?

I tried to search what is the best solution, but i can't found anything.

    Thanks,

    Sandor

    Hi!

First of all, here is the Best Practices about configuring of the VMware HA:

    https://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/vmw-vsphere-high-availability.pdf

    http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1002080

Usually the bigest concern when configuring tru HA solution is  the storage. You have a big bunch of options here. In my opinion the best ones are VMware, EMC VNX and StarWind - depending if you would like to go with or withour dedicated box or HyperConverged.
