    Hi,

    You need to enable ESXi shell. You can do it on DCUI in "Troubleshooting Options" -> "Enable ESXi Shell".

    Having this issue with ESXi shell ENABLED in Troubleshooting Options.  After hitting Alt-F1, screen displays 'ESXi 5.50 http://www.vmware.com Copyright 2007-2014 VMware, Inc.' but login prompt never appears.

    Fixed by changing shell timeout value which was set too low.

    In vsphere client, go to Configuration > Advanced Settings > UserVars

    Change UserVars.ESXiShellInteractiveTimeOut

    Change UserVars.ESXiShellTimeOut

    Same issue here in esxi 6.7 as shown in the first screenshot in this thread.  I'm stuck on the copyright screen after pressing Alt + F1 and can't get out of it.  It's been on that screen for over 24 hours now.

    I set both of these to 10 seconds but it's not helping even after running this command to restart services /sbin/services.sh restart

    Change UserVars.ESXiShellInteractiveTimeOut

    Change UserVars.ESXiShellTimeOut

    Is there anything else I can try besides restarting the host?
