Adding a 'note' to virtual template

I want to put some information in the 'notes' section on a template we have setup, can you advise how I am to do this?

It is currently greyed out and I cannot enter any information in this area

The notes section is in the template summary under annotations

How about converting as VM and add a note?

How about making it a common-sense 'no brainer' to make a simple edit instead of adding to customer's work.
