  • 1.  Add 2 ESX hosts to one physical server

    Hi - Anyone have any experience of adding 2 ESX hosts to one physical server and let me know the advantages of this setup and do vmware recommend it? Thanks Rick

    Hello.

    Are you talking about using nested virtualization? What are you ultimately trying to accomplish here and will it be used for testing or production?

    You mean running the whitebox setup for learning purpose..

    Explan what is the exact requirement..

    Aravinds3107, I believe we are talking about a production setup here not something for training purposes. I have had no responses yet that suggest a good reason for this kind of setup - I will try and contact someone from team that suggested this, If I find out anything useful I will post it up here - thanks.

    Besides doing this is definitely not a supported setup, I don't see a technical reason for it anyway. In addition to this, trying to run a second installation of ESXi on a different disk on the host would most likely end up in an error message that existing installation has been found.

    Hi,

    The second ESXi install though on a separate disk or partition will not be installed as the system will detect that one instance of ESXi is already installed in the system.

    Why do you require 2 instances of ESXi on same physical box?
