  • 1.  Aadding host to vcenter

    Hi

    I am trying to add host to vcenter but i am getting an error that says host not avalibale on network or mangment service not running

    I can ping my host also i can login with vsohere client to host ,so can u pls help me to giure out?

    Are you try add the host using IP address or DNS name ? If using DNS name, ensure that you vCenter server can resolve the ESXi IP address.

    Let me know the version of your vCenter and ESXi hosts, cause you can not add a host with version higher than your vCenter.

    i tried to ad host with ip, vcenrter is 5.1 update 1 esx is version 5

    Sounds like a name resolution problem. 

    1) Check DNS and/or your hosts file entries.

    2) Must check with the pointer records.

    3) Try to restart the management services under esxi host.


    Thank connect the host with the vcenter.


    Your vcenter and ESXi version interoperability is as per standard. No issue with it.

    the problem was network issues(duplacatedt IP)
