    Hello there.

I got ESXi 5.0 (4 sockets x 6 p cores, 469512) managed by vCenter std (5.0 913577) and licensed with vSphere Enterprise. According to https://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere5/r50/vsphere-50-configuration-maximums.pdf there is a limit of 32 vCPU per vm, but i got the error message:

I`ve tried Windows 2008R2, Debian 6 as guest OS with the same result.

Can someone explain me what is the problem?

On vSphere 5.0 you need the Enterprise Plus license to use 32 vCPU:s.

You could also upgrade to vSphere 5.5 (or later) to have 32 vCPU:s on the Enterprise license.

    Thanks to both of you.

I cant upgrade the vSphere, this infrastructure is not mine. Also I found this VMware KB: Product offerings for vSphere 5.x. I`ve never faced this problem before cause always had Ent+ or vSphere higher than 5.1.
