    HI GUYS

can any give advice on this topic.

I have a Proliant ML10 G6 for testing and learning ESXI.

now i know it has 2* 1Gig network cards.

but they show up in VM as only 10mbps.?

it it a driver issue? does VMware have like a driver update area.

or do you think its just settings.

    any ideas.

    regards

    Neo

The speed the guest is showing doesn't mean anything. The speed of the virtual network card is not limited by physical network bandwith limits as long as the traffic doesn't hit the physical network card. Regardless of what is shown in the guest. As soon as the traffic hits the physical network card its setting sets the speed.

There is one exception. If the "vlance" virtual network card type (emulated AMD PCnet32) is used, you're limited. But if you use "flexible" or "e1000" or a "vmxnet" type you get the full possible speed a vSwitch can provide when the VMware Tools are installed.
