My network guys are doing a little work recently, and they go through and touch the configuration files in the routers. The changes are hardly ever major.

But the problem is that when they do, Spectrum notices. I keep getting "STARTUP AND RUNNING CONFIGURATIONS ARE DIFFERENT" messages, for minor things like an extra carriage return (line spacing), where it may have looked like this:

    Line of information
    Second line of information

    Third line of information

    Now it looks like:

    Line of information

    Second line of information
    Third line of information

All of these lines will be identical, but because the spacing is off, Spectrum flags them.

SO...the question is, how do I tell Spectrum, "Yes, I saw it, don't worry about it, and don't continue to generate messages about it."?

And please pardon if this is a newb question...I'm a newb.

Thanks in advance for any input here.

    Hi Dave,
Are you receiving STARTUP AND RUNNING CONFIGURATIONS ARE DIFFERENT alarms in the AlarmView?
    Thank you,
    Bill

You can try to use "Mask Configuration / Comparison Mask" to hide the empty lines from comparison.
You can try add something like:
    ^$

    or

    ^\s*$

I'll give that a try. Where, exactly, would I put these arguments?

Select a family, and select "Information"
