  • 1.  No DD/MM/YYYY date format

I logged a ticket for this and thought I just overlooked this, but CA support came badk and said there is no UK/Europe data format for the date selector in CAPC.

Seems us UK/Europeans have to put up with using the US date format MM/DD/YYYY for now. I don't usually mind but we have to provide our customers with some of the CAPC pages.

Personally I'm a bit surprised that they sell IM2 in the UK and do not provide localization for the UK and asked us to suggest this as an idea!

So HERE it is! (Please Promote it!)

    Regards,

    Frank

Frank, there is a way to customize this in the product by editing a bunch of XML files. We will document basic "how to" guide and publish it here.

    Thank you,
    Oleg

Definetly interested here too. We don't use US date format in Australia. Need dd/mm/yyyy

I've put together a simple HowTo document which demonstrates changing the date format for the English-US locale.

A HowTo document is attached with two zip files.
One that implements dd/mm/yyyy and the other than implements a ISO8601 like date format: yyyy/mm/dd

Please attempt this in a non production environment first.

    Attachment(s)

    zip
    CA-PCChangeDateFormat.zip   511 KB 1 version

    Thanks for this John!

I can confirm it seems to be working!

Hiya Frank, (plus those other enthusiasts of DD/MM/YYYY format...)

I wondered if you still use this same method for achieving your desired DD/MM/YYYY format... now we are here in 2019 with PM 3.6.x.

That helpful document and package that was done by John Ahern, was way back in 2012, so presumably shouldn't be used simply 'as is' now but maybe it's quite ok to simply retrofit the same changes to the current versions of the properties and javascript files involved...?

Or there is a totally new approach you use for this now...! ?

    All Best!

    Dan.

    Hi Dan,

No idea to be honest. I haven't used this since and haven't required it. I would imagine this *should* be easier by now. If not then that would be a sad affair as it is, as you say 2019 and these sorts of things should be easy to do!

Very keen to find out myself.

    Regards,

    Frank
