  • 1.  Install the Service Manager on 64 bit Server 2012

    I'm currently trying to install the service manager (UCYBSMgr.exe) on a 64 bit Server 2012 system but I'm receiving the following error:

    “The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail”

    I'm fairly certain I'm missing something but I can't, for the life of me, remember what that is!
    If anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening, I'd appreciate it greatly!

    The server is missing the 2010 C++ Redistributable package.

    Hi, thank you for the suggestion but, unfortunately, it didn't work. I'm working with a brand new server at the moment, at this point I have installed Visual Studio 2010 isolated and then 2010 C++ Redistributable package (as you suggested) and Java 6u31. Do you have any further suggestions? This is truly becoming baffling.

    We had 2 issues with that - solution was to install older versions of C++ RedPack - as fas as I remember 2005 and/or 2008

    +1 for Wolfgang. I believe I ended up installing the C++ for 2005 and 2008 to get this to work.

    I am having the same issue. Usually when I get this error I install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 & 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) but this time it didn't work. Still getting the side-by-side error. (2016 server)

    I would try installing the 2008 version as well.

    The server already has 2008.
