Where can I find the DB2 UDB log files on Linux and how monitoring them with Data Studio or on Linux ?

Hi !

 

I'm coming back to work like a DBA after several years.  I've worked with DB2 mainframe, Oracle on Unix and SQL Server on Windows.

 

Yesterday, our database shutdown on his own and restart normally.  I want to see the logs to find out what happened (bad query or anything else).

 

Where do we find the logs files for DB2 UDB on Linux ?

 

I want to make some monitoring, so what is the best practice ?  Data Studio or Linux directly ?

 

How can I setup my environment to receive alerts for all the database installed ?

Hello Keith,

 

I've just opened my account with them.

 

I've received effectively automatic answers with the IBM site.

 

From there, I should be able to get more information.

 

One of our DB crashed (shutdown and reboot automatically) Yesterday

afternoon.  I want to find out what happened.  Maybe the logs will help me

to find out if any query was causing performance problem.

 

Also,  I would like to setup a monitoring tool like Data Studio to see in

details what's happening on daily basis for any of our databases.

Data studio is certainly one tool you can look at to help you.
