Help please!  Just intalled Workload Automation AE ver 11.3.6.2.  I now need to migrate my EEM policies, application views, and users (autosys_secure user@host acounts) from 11.3.   I cannot find anything as to how these steps are to be done and in what order?  Please help!

eem .. its best if you do it by hand. a lot of changes.. if you are on R12 eem..

views.. can be done programmatically with CLI..

autosys_secure.. by hand. i think algorithm for encryption changes...

I believe there's a tool but you need to test one first ..

just my 3 cents but this should have been planned out before upgrade.. unless this is the planning phase.. I hope

    good luck.

For EEM please see the Securing section on EEM Backup and Migration here.

If navigating the Wiki, the section is:

CA Workload Automation AE and WCC > Securing > CA EEM Security Data Replication, Backup, and Migration

You can find information on migrating views in the Wiki here.

If navigating the Wiki, the section is:

CA Workload Automation AE and WCC  > Installing > GUI Implementation

Regarding autosys_secure user@host credentials, there is no facility to move these. If you are moving between databases of the same type (e.g. Oracle -> Oracle) you could have your DBA copy the ujo_cred table.

    Otherwise it will be manual.

How would copying the ujo_cred table work? Isnt the encryption different between 4.x/11.0 (DES) vs 11.3x(AES)

My understanding was that you can only do it 2 ways:

    1. Manually add the entries which I prefer

    2. Use the AUA which in the latest release supposedly copies the autosys_secure entries. I have not tested this myself.

That's what i thought as well.. i wouldn't risk it. also could cause security violation in table.. as we know if its in autotrack you dont want to touch it. ;-)

Are there tables that you can insert update. yes. Am i about to tell the newly initiated which ones and how to do it.. no. why? if they make a mistake they will blame me. if i am to get the blame i need to have earned it.. which means i did it myself and screwed it up.

This is why i try to tell the advanced people to temper what they give out in open forums.. like giving a grenade to a little kid and say its a firecracker..

Ok. I see the original question was to migrate from 11.3 to 11.3.6 SP2, so that may work…but I wouldn’t mess around with copying tables. Specially since my life depends on it

Agree with Steve..better safe than get fired ☺
