    Dear Team,

We ahave installed the upgraded the spectrum from 9.2.7 to 9.3. now after
upgrading when we are trying to load SSDB on server it is getting failed with
    following error:

SPC-DBS-23007: This save file cannot be loaded by version 9.3.0.000 of
    Spectrum.

It was saved as version 9.2.1.007 .

    Please suggest.

    Regards,
    Irshad Khan

    Irshad,

That is correct. You cannot load an older version database (9.2.1.H07) into a newer version database (9.3.0.000).

You only supported way to migrate from an older version to a newer version is to install the newer version over the top of the older version.

This is discussed in detail in the installation document.

    Regards,

    Joe

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for the update. after upgrading my spectrum from 9.2.7 to 9.3 it got started successfully. and it was showing all the model discovered during 9.2.7. but due to some issue the server got rebooted abruptly and SpectroServer got terminated. when we tried to  start spectroServer in SCP it was showing the .vnmdb lock message. After removing the lock, we tried to start the spectroServer again but it is showing the error: "ssdb got currupted (attached is the error message)". now we have iniitaliazed to legacy ssdb and then tried to upload the the ssdb of oldest version 9.2.7.but it is getting failed "with version difference error".

Is there any way to resolve the same?

    Regards,

    Irshad Khan

    Hi Irshad,

Probably the easiest thing to do will be as Kalyan noted...initialize to legacy and load the models only on top.  Or if you have a DSS, you can take the catalog from another SS, load it on this SS that crashed, and then load the models only on top.

I wrote up some info in another thread about doing this:

    https://communities.ca.com/web/ca-ehealth-and-ca-spectrum-global-user-community/message-board/-/message_boards/message/107037218?&#p_19

    Cheers

    Irshad,

Did you try a models only load ? This will load only the models from your previous db into Spectrum. But you need to initialize the current db before doing it . In this case all the changes done to the current catalog from MTE will be lost.

    Kalyan

As a general rule of thumb, I will always do a SSdbsave prior to starting the SpectroSERVER for the first time following any upgrade for the very reason you just encountered. If your SpectroSERVER crashes before the first scheduled backup can run you're stuck doing a lot of legwork trying to get a working database. Sucks that you had to encounter this, but at least now you know what needs to be done!
