With CA 7 r11, the method to schedule cross-platform jobs in through a utility called CA7TOUNI. The Cross-Platform Scheduling (XPS) is discussed in the CA 7 Interfaces Guide. You will need to have a CA Unicenter Agent (Unicenter Job Management Agent, JMO, or AutoSys) active on the platform on which the job will execute. On the mainframe side, you will need to set up CA 7 with cross-platform information for the CCI connection through which messages are sent. You will also need to set up CA7XTRK to receive the job feedback data sent from the agent. Once all the pieces are in place, then you will need to activate CA Driver if it is not already active in CA 7. Copy the Driver Proc CA7TOUNI from the SAMPJCL library into your Driver Proc library. Then, create a CA7TOUNI job using the SAMPJCL member CA7XSUB as a model. If you have plans to install CA 7 r11.1 soon, there is a new job type, XPJOB, that permits the job definition to be saved in the CA 7 data base, and CA 7 will submit the cross-platform request directly without submitting the MVS job.
