After starting TIM ISO installation using GEN03180449E.iso on an HP Proliant DL380 Gen8, installation can not be broken with error occured as below:
    "Error downloading kickstart file"

Any one has the experience similar with me?

    Thanks,

Sounds like your image is corrupted. Check the MD5 checksum of your image against the one listed in COV*.pdf for the version of PDF you're installing.
The COV*.pdf is the package reference document and has all of the checksum values and "real" package names.

Thanks Havis for your quickly reply.

I have checked MD5 for my image. It's the same as the one listed in COV*.pdf. And i can do a success installation on VMWARE Workstation using this image.

I opened a case on CA Support. Support said that, APM Compatibility Guide - Introscope 9.1.x guide stated that it only support "HP Proliant DL360 G5" and "HP S-Buy Proliant DL380 G6". and do not seem to support the G8 that this customer is using.

Customer said they can not change G8 to G6 or other, how should i do?

You should have support contact Product Management through CSO. I know we have some test builds that could work for you, but I'm not sure if it will be supported.

CA Support also let me contact CA sales to get the build version from CA Services team. But CA Services team said they had no right media for us. Do you have any workaround to solve this issue?

By the way, RHEL 6 has been published several years. Why does TIM always use RHEL 5.5?

The OS versions change from build to build. We have other test builds that use other versions.

Did your sales team say why they couldn't get one of our test builds out to you? What did they mean by "no right media for us"?

You can also put in an Idea for this.

CA Services team replied they did not have the OS Version for DL380 G8.

Then I come to Community to ask for help.

If you have the build for DL380 G8, could you kindly share it with us? Maybe my request is too much.

    Hi Tiezheng,

    I had a similar experience.
I think the default installer of TIM RedHat cannot recognize the CD/DVD drive you are using.
So, it would be worth to try to use the external CD/DVD drive.

Also, the installer might not have the appropriate RAID driver and this would cause another failure.
In such case, you should stop the loading kernel step by hitting, hitting, hitting the Esc key, and type
    linux ks=cdrom:/ks.cfg dd
    at the prompt.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Yoshio

Thanks Yoshio. I also think the installer might not have the appropiate RAID driver. I tried upgrade TIM Redhat kernel to 5.8 which can be supported by DL380 G8, then installed OS successfully. But there are some drivers which can not be identified, such as network adapter driver, etc. And I am also afraid of potential risk on production in future as this is not CA official deployment.

Addtional, specifying dd option needs to use driver disk. I got raid driver from HP, but the installer can not remain to identify this driver.
