  • 1.  Endpoint Protection Client will NOT install on Windows 7

    Posted Aug 02, 2011 03:08 PM

I have tried every way I know to get the SEP client to install on a new Windows 7 PC but keep getting a roll back and error 1063. I have tried to push the client from the server, pull the client from the PC and even install directly from the CD. Windows firewall is turned off, as is Windows Defender. I have gone through all of the possible solutions listed on here and no resolutions. I am out of ideas and need some help. Thanks.

                Change the value=%APPDATA%  to value=%USERPROFILE%\AppData\

Change to >>>  Change the value=%APPDATA%  to value=%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming

Make sure folder are removed for Sep from Drive:\program data\symantec\sep\

    Hello,

What version of Symantec Endpoint Protection are you trying to Install?

Is that SEP 11.0.6300 or SEP SBE 12.0 (RTM) or SEP SEP SBE 12.0 (MR1)

It is always adviseable in such cases, to provide a SEP_Inst.log, which would help us to get to the botom of this issue.

Error 1063 is very generic and would not let us know much.

If in case, you are SEP SBE 12.0 (RTM), it is adviseable to Install SEP SEP SBE 12.0 (MR1).

I have tried everything you suggested - everything I have read in all the forums so far - I will attached the install log file so you can see if there is anything in there that would give an idea about what is going on - it should not be this hard to install one client on one computer!

Ok I looked at the other instructions but have a question - in step 8 it says "After the package has finished exporting open the Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_11.0.5002.333_RU5 CD 1\SEP directory and copy the LuCheck.exe and LUSETUP.EXE in to the folder where expanded package was exported overwriting the existing LuCheck.exe and LUSETUP.EXE." - My question is - where do I get the LUSETUP.EXE and LuCheck.exe files from that will replace the ones in the install package? If I look through the program files for Symantec on the server I can find a LuCheck.exe but not LUSETUP.exe
