  • 1.  IP Blacklist Removal Request

    Hello,

We are unable to send emails to clients using Symantec. 2 of our IP addresses have a negative reputation at https://ipremoval.sms.symantec.com:

    104.238.182.58
    133.18.201.149

-spf/dkim/dmarc and rDNS are properly configured
-we never engage in email marketing (total of less than 500 emails per month from both IPs)
-we strictly manage server security and have never had a problem with malware.

I believe these IPs are on the blacklist due to the actions of previous owners.

I would be much obliged if you could investigate and remove these IPs from the blacklist.

    Thanks !

    Rory

    Hi Rory,

This is a community-based forum and Symantec employees don't often trawl through here. Read the TN below on how to get your IP removed from the blacklist:

    Thanks!

Hi I am running since 1 april 2019 two mailservers for several domains with the following ip adresses: 185.119.219.176 185.119.219.176 All the domains have proper spf records and mx records and dkim record. If I run mx-toolbox everything is ok. But for un-known reasons symantec is blocking these ip adresses. 3 times the servers are blocked and is causing a lot of trouble for my customers. It looks (i am not sure) that in the past the ip adresses had a bad reputation. But I am sure that there is no spamming. In the past (before there was no problem with different mailserver and different ip adres) My customers and I allready spend a lot of time finding out what is the cause that e-mail is rejected. So could you be so kind to change this. And if not, tell me what the reason is for blicking these 2 ip-adresses. Thanks in advance! Hi Craig,

Thank you for your comments and help. I used the link you indicated to de-list our email servers. Alas, it was only temporary and they are now black listed again. Looking at the forum postings temporary de-listing soon followed by re--listing seems to happen a lot to people who (like us) seem to know what they are doing and manage their servers tightly. Blacklisting really creates serious problems for a lot of people and seems to be unfair in quite a number of cases. I'd appreciate if Symantec could get a better system in place with respect to more specific feedback on why particular servers are being listed and what shoud be done about it. Even if a fee was involved I'd gladly pay it. But wishful thinking I guess....the only solution I can think of at the moment is to re-build servers with an IP address that is not listed, but obviously that is rather drastic and a last resort step.

Thank you again for your help.
