I am building a Linux RHEL9 instant clone desktop pool that has the ability to use the host machines USB devices. I am running into the issue where the instant clones do not see any connected USB devices. I installed the VMware horizon agent with the USB redirection feature, smart card redirection and multiple-session options as well as made sure the USB Access policy was set to allow for the desktop pool. The main goal I am trying to achieve is to allow smartcards to be read. I've edited the /etc/vmware/config file with the lines VVC.ScRedir.Enable=TRUE and viewusb.AllowSmartcard=o:true. The version of the VMware horizon agent I am running is 2312 and the horizon server is on horizon 8. Does anyone have any advice or anything else I could try? Any help would be appreciated.
I'm having the same problem on my RHEL 8 build. Agent version 8.12.0-23145208. I also set /etc/vmware/config file with the lines VVC.ScRedir.Enable=TRUE but I don't see viewusb.AllowSmartcard anywhere in the config file.
