Hi Marubun,
See my answers:
Data Retention Period - Transformed Tables (all reporting database tables, except the event table)
Data Retention Period - Event table (largest table in the reporting database)
We have a dedicated retention period for the even table because it is the largest table, hence you may want a shorter retention period.
In the Archive Expert you can find the table sizes.
1. About archiving and purging
If you set the Data Retention Policy to Purge, SRM will purge the old data. If you set the Data Retention Policy to Archive, SRM will archive the old data.
If the Data Retention Period is set to 10 days, SRM will purge (or archive) any data older than 10 days.
It occurs after midnight (~12:30 am) every day.
2. Processing when the retention period is changed
Processing when the storage period is changed from 90 days to 10 days
The SRM will either purge or archive (depending on the Data Retention Policy) data older than 10 days.
3. If the data retention period is changed to a longer period.
Processing when the retention period is changed from 10 days to 90 days
The SRM will either purge or archive (depending on the Data Retention Policy) data older than 90 days.
Hope I have clarified your doubts.
Thanks,
Silvio
