CA Endevor SCM Integrations for Enterprise DevOps v18.1 is now GA

08-02-2019 05:15 PM

I'm pleased to announce that the latest release for CA Endevor SCM Integrations for Enterprise DevOps -- V18.1 -- is now GA and available for customers to download.

This release adds GitHub support to our Enterprise Git integrations for CA Endevor SCM.  With the Enterprise Git integrations, users can enjoy a modern developer experience, leveraging Git capabilities for version control while still using CA Endevor SCM for remote builds of the developers' working directory and allowing seamless collaboration with traditional ISPF developers.  Further, once the code is committed and pushed, developers are able continue to use CA Endevor SCM to move the code through the lifecycle.

This integrates with GitHub or Bitbucket at this point (at least as far as the Git integrations are concerned).  Those are generally enterprise servers linked to an organizations LDAP.  Public GitHub (e.g. the one with a developer private email in the cloud) would need to be made able to talk to the mainframe, which is generally not done.

In other words, yes - you would have control over access to the mainframe code.

Hope that helps.

Please clarify if this is an integration with Git, Github, or Gitlab. We must be able to control access and authentication internally vs via a developer’s email account in the cloud.
