Hi John, Thank you so much John for your information and explanation.
As you mentioned, "We can use a non-Service Now CCID and ask Endevor admin to create a "static" ccid e.g. MAINTENANCE or CHG1234567 for predefined housekeeping etc bypassing the Service Now integration."
Could you please let me know how can we bypass Service now integration for only one CCID(like 012624). Please suggest how can we use a non-Service Now CCID and where we can create/update static CCID?
Thank you so much in advance :-)
Best regards,
Siva

The CCID is a change control identifier used to track changes. Your Service Now integration means each Endevor action is tied to a Service Now change ticket. If the ticket is kept in draft state perhaps it is getting closed automatically or is not in a correct state for your housekeeping tasks. It may be a hassle to create a new change ticket each time and the ticket cannot stay in draft.
You need a persistent CCID for these repeated tasks.
A few options
- create a longer lasting Service Now ticket by working with Service Now team to put something in place to allow it to remain there open ?
- create a master ticket that covers all the recurring actions and maybe add a comment each time its used to maintain an audit trail (depends how your Service Now is set up)
- create automation (service now API )to create a ticket and obtains the CCID each time you need to perform the housekeeping - add this to first step of your housekeeping
- work with Endevor admin and Service Now team to create a process that allows generating a CCID for the task without creating a new Service Now ticket.
If you want to use a non-Service Now CCID you could ask Endevor admin to create a "static" ccid e.g. MAINTENANCE or CHG1234567 for predefined housekeeping etc bypassing the Service Now integration. You can modify Endevor exit code for Service Now Integration and update them to do this - you would need to include some sort of validation on the user being used to prevent others using this CCID for other processes that you have not agreed with Service Now team and auditors.
The solution needs to be agreed and not overload Service Now with tickets or violate change controls.
- Create Master ticket for maintenance CCID: CHG1234567 Description: "Endevor Clean up"
- Run Clean up - housekeeping job etc
- Add Service Now comment "Clean up performed on 17th Feb 2025"

Subject: Endevor repeated activities without CCID?
Hello everyone,
We have monthly Endevor housekeeping activities(clean up) and Endevor functionality tasting frequently. To do this activities we need CCID for element and package actions. but we have integrated Endevor CCID with Service now change number. So we can't keep change ticket in draft status and use same CCID for longer duration. Could you please suggest....that will be more helpful. Thank you!!
