Extending Element OPTIONS - Not all Elements are alike

Introduction Not all mainframe programs are alike. Each programming language has a unique compiler for translating source code into executables. Additional program attributes require further processing variations. For example, a COBOL program might require a specific compiler, a Reentrant attribute, an MQ stub, Amode/Rmode values, or a hundred others. Package Shipping and Post-Ship Scripts De-mystified

Introduction The diagram below depicts an Endevor configuration that includes the optional package shipping feature. Any number of stages may exist in an Endevor life cycle from start to finish. Typically at least one of the initial stages is available without requiring the use of a package. For the remaining stages, packages are required in order to group software changes together for approvals and promotions. Introduction Many programming languages support the use of language snippets. These can be coded once and copied or included anywhere using a simple reference to the snippet name. Package Automation - what are you waiting for?

Introduction Some things are so easily seen as part of a routine, that even the family dog can recognize them. You might see ready and eager eyes looking at you and suggesting “What are you waiting for”? Similar identifiable routines exist for Endevor packages. For example, when a package is approved, the next thing that must happen to the package is its execution. If a package is approved and is ready to run but does not immediately execute, one might ask “What are you waiting for”? Is it really necessary to wait for a manual step or a scheduled sweep? Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) support is now available for the CA Endevor SCM V18 web services component. Support for MFA is delivered with PTFs SO07729 & SO07730; the CA Endevor SCM v18 product documentation has been updated to provide information about how to activate MFA. https://docops.ca.com/ca-endevor-SCM/18-0/en/securing/multi-factor-authentication-mfa The Endevor Eclipse plugin has been updated to exploit the MFA enhancement. PDS Monitor of CA Compliance Event Manager for CA Endevor SCM Customers

The CA Product Management team is pleased to announce that starting in December 2017 all CA Endevor SCM customers can get enhanced security with the PDS Monitor feature of CA Compliance Event Manager, which they can acquire at no additional cost. The CA Compliance Event Manager can be used to monitor any changes to CA Endevor SCM-managed data sets and identify changes that were made outside of CA Endevor SCM.
