HOW TO INSTALL ESX WITH WIN2003 ?

i have two disks, i want to install 2003 system in patition C:\ , AND Install esx in another disks .in that case,i can use two systems

who can help me ? thanks…

This might be possible with e.g. installing ESX(i) on disk1, Windows on disk2 and modifying the boot loader.

However, since this seems to be a teat/lab system, so let me suggest two other solutions.

1.) (my preferred one) Install ESX(i) on your host system and Windows 2003 as a guest VM.

2.) Install Windows 2003 on the host system, install VMware Workstation 7 and run ESX(i) as a nested guest.

因为ESX也是一个LINUX，既然LINUX和WINDOWS能安装在同一台机器上，理论上ESX和WINDOWS也没问题。但我没有试验过。

ESX是一个服务器操作系统了，估计想把它和WINDOWS一同安装的朋友不多，找不到教程也在情理之中。

推荐你使用一些System Commander、Boot Manager Boot Star、Boot Manager MST BOOT等多系统管理工具来帮忙。

另外有一款XOSL是免费的。

个人感觉是，你在安装ESX过程中，选择目标磁盘时候需要小心。

楼上提供的是一个安全的办法，同时你也能避免HCL的问题。只不过windows和esx都是在虚拟机上面跑了。

可以的，特别是两块硬盘，但是操作还是比较麻烦。这个选项完全没有任何影响，ESX(i)会把整个硬盘格式化，重写分区表。

顺序要注意，window先，应为它比较傻，在后安装的话，会把Linux引导干掉，linux不会。

Certainly, especially with two hard drives, but the process can be quite cumbersome. This option has no impact at all, as ESX(i) will format the entire hard drive and rewrite the partition table.

The order is important, starting with Windows, as it is less intelligent. Installing it afterwards could overwrite the Linux bootloader, whereas Linux won't do so.
