ED-DCX8510-4B FOS upgrade with 10G fcip connection

    Hi,

We have 4x ED-DCX8510-4B with FOS v8.1.2d, each fabric connected via fcip with 10G sfp. Requirement of 10G is that the two directors should have the same FOS level. Now that there is a new FOS release and there's a need to upgrade FOS version to fix software bugs, does the upgrade on one site only will affect the 10G connectivity? For example, we do the upgrade on one site today and the other site maybe after two weeks?

BTW, FCIP module is Condor 2 Asic (FX8-24) and the target FOS is v8.2.1b.

    Peter

    Hi Peter.

As far as I know it is disruptive on FCIP level. From FOS 8.1.2g release notes:

"Any firmware activation on DCX 8510-8 or DCX 8510-4 with FX8-24 blade installed will disrupt I/O traffic on the FCIP links."
