We're upgrading to Windows 10, using SD 11.2 (I know, it's old, sorry). Instructed users to use IE11. Most are having no issues at all. Some users have extreme slowness (about 10-12 seconds) when opening up any new form; for example the new Incident/Change form, or any ticket. Navigating around is speedy, right up until a new form is called. The "avoid popups" setting addresses this performance issue, but most people seem to prefer to take the performance hit. In general, this seems very similar to another post where people noted performance issues with Edge.
Service Desk is in the "Local Intranet" zone, "Enable Protected Mode" turned off, with Compatibility View on. I can't seem to recreate the issue myself, though there are a fair number of users who are experiencing the slowness.
As I am sure that you are aware, SD 11.2 has been end of support for some time.
Obviously, it was never certified for use with IE11 or Windows 10.
Have you checked to ensure that the Documentation Mode is set to Default?
Do you have plans to upgrade to the latest SDM 17.1 release that has support for IE11?
We're aware that 11.2 is quite old, but do not have plans to upgrade to 17.1.
Documentation mode is set to default.
Does the same performance issue persist if you use any other web browser (i.e. FireFox or Chrome)?
No performance issues in any other browser than IE. That said, 11.2 has some limited functionality in modern browsers (including Chrome, Edge, Firefox), the menubar doesn't render, which makes it pretty unusable.
That is to be expected since there is such a technology gap between IE11 and SDM 11.2.
You indicated no plans to upgrade to the latest SDM 17.1 release. Are you able to indicate why?
Hi Kevin, did you ever find the root cause of the issue? We are using SDM 12.9 & Internet Explorer 11, but have a few staff with the exact same issue. Is this the "avoid popups" IE 11 option you are talking about?Click "Tools" -> "Internet Options" -> underneath the section "Tabs" click "Settings", then check the option "Always open pop-ups in a new tab" and click "OK".
