How to mark project for deletion?

Hello,

I'm following steps regarding project deletion in CLARITY PPM - 15.7.1 (ON-PREMISE AND SAAS)

I marked a project as inactive and financial status is closed. I granted myself the right to delete a specific project.

Project management setting is updated to allow users to mark investments with timesheet and transaction data to be deleted.

The only step I'm struggling is the one where I have to click Mark for Deletion check box. I haven't found anything like that. There is the Purge Flag but is not editable for me.

Someone can advise? Would appreciate any help with that.

Do you mean you cannot find the 'Mark for Deletion' button on the Project list page?

You also need to have the select boxes as well as the right to see them and the Mark for Deletion.

Yes - that's the problem.

After we moved to New UI projects & programs are viewed as Project/Program tiles. Don't see the button there. Similarly with records in the Project Grid.

Do not see it in the New UI either, only in Classic..In the system that I looked trying to put a value to the Purge flag field gave me an internal error

Hi Kamil,
I guess an option could be to use a channel at project level that shows the project list.
That way you would be able to mark the project for deletion

You could also go to the Classic  from the menu in New UI

From the Home menu select Portfolio Management and Projects

There you have the Mark for Deletion button and selection box at the beginning of the record.

You may need some more Project rights to get that.

Another option is if you have a version which supports Global links to create a link to the Classic project list.
Not really very practical to create a project link to the list.

Hi Martti,

In our implementation of New UI we don't have option to go directly to Classic UI. We utilize Global links but I'm struggling with creation of link to the Classic project list. Help with that would be really appreciated.

To access single projects I'm using action:pma.investmentProperties&investment_code=PROJECT&id=xxxxxxx
I tried to modify this but not moving me to the project list.

I am looking Clarity at the server only. So my system is set up to use localhost as the server name.
Menu link to the project list in the Classic UI in my system is
http://localhost/niku/nu#action:mainnav.work&classCode=project

Try changing the localhost to what you have in the URL for the New UI.
I have local host there as well http://localhost/pm/#/projects

You could try that also as a browser bookmark.

That would be likely to reduce the unnecessary accesses.

You should be able to configure the Purge Flag attribute in the Details flyout and update it there.

To clarify, I was able to do this successfully in 15.8.1 (configure attribute in Details flyout and update) with full admin rights.

I agree, but as said in the system in which I was looking at that it gave an error.

Then you still need to go to the Classic to hit the Mark for deletion.
Then running the job is another thing to do in Classic unless you schedule it to run on a regular basis.
