Fiscal Period setup in Finance

Hello Everyone, 

Any one has come across the Fiscal period setups two different fiscal periods for the same month for based on the business needs. For Example: Fiscal period for September 1 to 30 and September 1 - 28. 

If we setup two fiscal periods for the same month, what will be the impact.

You would not be able to do this on the same Entity.
Clarity may complain about over lapping dates

Please clarify what kid of overlapping will occur with few examples so that I can have better understanding

So you have these fiscal periods for an entity

Then you try to create one that overlaps the existing periods

The error says gap and not overlap. Apparently there is just one erro rmessage text.

Anyway "You would not be able to do this on the same Entity."
