02/08/2018 10:00:31 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: Hi Everyone - We'll be starting in just a few minutes. Thanks!
02/08/2018 10:01:50 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: OK we're ready for questions!
02/08/2018 10:02:46 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: Quiet group...
02/08/2018 10:04:27 AM from Lowell to Everyone: ok - What is the GEL command to test for the existence of a file?
02/08/2018 10:04:28 AM from Peter Garzero to Everyone: I created a custom chart porlet that shows financial forecast, plan, and actuals across months. My customer would like one of the line colors to be red, but it seems that the application assigns its own colors to the lines, according to their order in the "Primary Axis Metrics" field.
02/08/2018 10:04:43 AM from Peter Garzero to Everyone: Is there a way I can force red on one of the lines?
02/08/2018 10:05:55 AM from Nick Darlington (CA) to Everyone: @Peter which version is this for? the answer is mostly the same but there can be a quirk to cover too
02/08/2018 10:06:52 AM from Nick Darlington (CA) to Everyone: @Lowell: There isn't one I think, but you can use the tag for opening files and wrap it in a core:catch to test if it fails or succeeds
02/08/2018 10:07:24 AM from Julie Whitney to Everyone: Our organization is currently on premise using PPM Classic 15.1. We would like to upgrade to v15.4, can we upgrade Classic only and then enable 15.4 new user experience functionality separately when we're ready?
02/08/2018 10:08:30 AM from Nick Darlington (CA) to Everyone: @Peter for the main part, the only control you have over the chart colors is through the System Options > Other section where it has the Chart Colors available and the checkbox to Use Consistent Chart Colors - with this you should be able to apply some mapping to the data of your portlet
    02/08/2018 10:08:52 AM from Peter Garzero to Everyone: @Nick - we're on version 13.3
02/08/2018 10:10:20 AM from Nika to Everyone: @Julie - according to what we currently have as functionality in 15.3 - you should be able to upgrade to 15.3 and simply not enable New UX until you need it. We cannot fully confirm for 15.4 yet as new features may be added.
02/08/2018 10:10:35 AM from Peter Garzero to Everyone: @Nick - actually, I have a question about the system colors, too. I think I need to go to Administration>System Options>Other, there is a Color Palette link. When I try to create a Chart color like Red 15,0,0, I get "Error, Entered filed does not match the required pattern." What is the correct pattern? Can I define colors here to use in graphs?
02/08/2018 10:10:58 AM from Lowell to Everyone: Can you give us any special troubleshooting guides for loading the DWH? We're running into an issue applying the PMO Accelerator, because the DWH fails to insert 2 attributes
02/08/2018 10:11:02 AM from Peter Garzero to Everyone: I think I need to define a color palette to use the "Consistent Colors" option now?
02/08/2018 10:11:20 AM from NIL CHATTERJEE to Everyone: @Julie: as far as I know, you can. 15.4 GA is out until Mar 2018 though, i am sure you know, so you have to wait and plan it out. As Nika mentioned, we still don't know the full extend of 15.4 and if anything is changing. One observation: Once you switch, Its probably recomended that your customers use the new UX timesheets or classic Timesheets but don't switch.. Maybe someone else here can confirm that comment.
02/08/2018 10:12:20 AM from Nick Darlington (CA) to Everyone: @Peter I don't know that we have a tecdoc to explain this but there was a defect in 14.3 and earlier that would cause some of the palette color choices to be skipped or repeated depending on the size of the palette you defined (and increasing the quantity of colors in the palette would cause them to shift around a bit) - I would suggest sticking to palettes of size 6, 10, or 15 colors only, not the values inbetween
02/08/2018 10:12:21 AM from Julie Whitney to Everyone: What are the implications for financial transaction processing if the Input Type Code is blank on our resource records, not defaulted onto timesheets for posting actuals to project cost plans and tasks?
02/08/2018 10:12:39 AM from Nika to Everyone: @Lowell - we do not have troubleshooting guides, we do have KB articles for specific issues. According to your error please research in our site and communities and you should be able to find information on how to resolve it. If you don't get it solved, please raise a case with Support
02/08/2018 10:13:29 AM from Nick Darlington (CA) to Everyone: @Peter colors have to be defined as a 6 digit hex string #RRGGBB
02/08/2018 10:13:40 AM from Nick Darlington (CA) to Everyone: @Peter similar to html colors
02/08/2018 10:14:34 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @Julie. The transactions will not process with no Input Type Code
02/08/2018 10:15:30 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @Julie They get stuck in Invalid Transactions. If you then go back and add the Input Type Code to the resource, the next time you run Post Transactions to Financials the record should process
02/08/2018 10:16:13 AM from Julie Whitney to Everyone: @Liz, thank you, you answered my follow up question.
02/08/2018 10:18:05 AM from Sarmistha Purkayastha (CA) to Everyone: @Peter, here's some documentation no chart colors if you are interested: https://docops.ca.com/x/t5-4G
02/08/2018 10:18:28 AM from Sarmistha Purkayastha (CA) to Everyone: but this is for version 15.3 so you may notice UI differences
02/08/2018 10:18:45 AM from Sarmistha Purkayastha (CA) to Everyone: sorry I mean "documentatio on chart colors..."
02/08/2018 10:18:45 AM from Peter Garzero to Everyone: @Nick - Thank you! I had to define a custom palette to use the Consistent Colors option. It's working the way I hoped it would.
02/08/2018 10:19:03 AM from Nika to Everyone: @Nil - yes you are correct, we recommend to use either one or the other (Classic Timesheets vs New UX)
02/08/2018 10:19:48 AM from Lowell to Everyone: @Sarmistha Please note, the PMO Accelerator is required for the New User Experience. Also - if you use SSO with SiteMinder, you have to add both paths to get it to work with SSO
02/08/2018 10:19:52 AM from Julie Whitney to Everyone: I am aware there is an Action Items purge job. Are there parameters that would allow our Administrator some flexibility in determining which action items to purge (that is any selection criteria to filter)?
02/08/2018 10:20:29 AM from NIL CHATTERJEE to Everyone: Will someone be able to help me clarify the point that the new timesheets in CA PPM 15.x no longer support indirect time entries. I need to use 'Other Wor'k instead. Is this means the button "new indirect row" can not be used anymore? Does that affect the "populate" feature at all to show your tasks and team assignements in any way?
02/08/2018 10:20:49 AM from Julie Whitney to Everyone: For Action Items that have been purged, are these reportable from within PPM or the Data Warehouse?
02/08/2018 10:21:21 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @NIL, you cannot add Indirect Time or Incidents in new UX
02/08/2018 10:21:28 AM from NIL CHATTERJEE to Everyone: @nika: Thanks for the confirmation on the timesheet switching option
02/08/2018 10:21:41 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @NIL, you will need to use Other Work instead
02/08/2018 10:22:26 AM from Sarmistha Purkayastha (CA) to Everyone: @Lowell, thank you. we do mention about PMO as a requirement. Can you explain what you mean by "add both paths?"
02/08/2018 10:22:33 AM from Nick Darlington (CA) to Everyone: @Julie purged records would be deleted so not available for reporting on - I'm trying to confirm your prior question to that part though
02/08/2018 10:22:39 AM from Karl Shlayfman (CA) to Everyone: @Julie are you rferring to Purge Notifications job?
02/08/2018 10:23:47 AM from Nick Darlington (CA) to Everyone: I was thinking that job or delete process instances (to take out associated action items) but not a direct purge action items job out of the box
02/08/2018 10:23:54 AM from Julie Whitney to Everyone: @Karl, Yes, I believe its the Purge Notifications job
02/08/2018 10:24:44 AM from Nick Darlington (CA) to Everyone: @Julie a notification may be sent for an action item, but that doesn't mean the action item itself is going to be deleted
02/08/2018 10:27:02 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: Anymore questions for us today?
02/08/2018 10:27:45 AM from Julie Whitney to Everyone: Are Action Items available to the Data Warehouse to be reported on?
02/08/2018 10:28:01 AM from Lowell to Everyone: @Sarmistha - you need to add https://<siteminder address>/pm and you need https://<siteminder address>/ppm/rest
02/08/2018 10:28:04 AM from Martti K. to Everyone: Anybody else getting all posts twice?
02/08/2018 10:28:45 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @Martti, not me
02/08/2018 10:28:47 AM from Nick Darlington (CA) to Everyone: @Martti no, we're not generally
02/08/2018 10:30:21 AM from Martti K. to Everyone: Mine was the only one which I only once
02/08/2018 10:30:27 AM from Nika to Everyone: @Julie, currently there are not. Please feel free to open an enhancement about it. Here is a post with a possible custom workaround: https://communities.ca.com/thread/241753247 Hope this helps
02/08/2018 10:30:39 AM from Martti K. to Everyone: Could not get Cisco_WebEx_Add-On.exe to run either.
02/08/2018 10:30:51 AM from Sarmistha Purkayastha (CA) to Everyone: @ Lowell, Thanks!
02/08/2018 10:31:25 AM from Lowell to Everyone: @Sarmistha - both are required - we tried just adding the first one and it did not work... The New User Experience evidently uses both
02/08/2018 10:31:51 AM from Martti K. to Everyone: Parameters for the Purge Notifications job in 15.2

02/08/2018 10:32:11 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: @Martti - WebEx can be flakey sometimes. I have switched between browsers sometimes to get past issues.
02/08/2018 10:32:12 AM from Julie Whitney to Everyone: @Nika, Thanks I will review
02/08/2018 10:32:52 AM from Lowell to Everyone: Question on the Jaspersoft Load - I had my DBA reload the database to the beginning - and I still have my Server.... what are the steps to reload the DWH?
02/08/2018 10:34:00 AM from Nika to Everyone: @Lowell - refresh the data from backup, recreate the link, run the Full Load
02/08/2018 10:35:34 AM from Lowell to Everyone: We are starting "fresh" on the database again. - Can I leave the application ?
02/08/2018 10:35:46 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @Lowell, you already created the blank DWH schema, you just need to create the dblink
02/08/2018 10:35:53 AM from Lowell to Everyone: that's there
02/08/2018 10:36:01 AM from Lowell to Everyone: I can't seem to get to the site now
02/08/2018 10:36:05 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @Lowell then just run full load of DW
02/08/2018 10:36:43 AM from Nika to Everyone: @Lowell - this is not caused by the actual steps, seems like you might have to work with Support on your case
02/08/2018 10:37:52 AM from Julie Whitney to Everyone: Is there a report or portlet that would show a project's earned value?
02/08/2018 10:38:06 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @Julie, there is a report
02/08/2018 10:38:15 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @Julie let me find it.
02/08/2018 10:39:15 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @Julie Project Cost and Effort Report should have it. Also there is a subpage on the project with EV numbers. Usually on the Schedule and Performance page
02/08/2018 10:39:44 AM from Julie Whitney to Everyone: @Liz. Thanks
02/08/2018 10:39:46 AM from Maria Whiteside (CA) to Everyone: @Julie, you can also try the 'Project Earned Value' report
02/08/2018 10:40:30 AM from Liz Williamson (CA) to Everyone: @Julie, there is also portlet Earned Value Analysis by Phase
02/08/2018 10:40:50 AM from Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone: OK Everyone - We're going to wrap up for today. Thank you for your participation and please join us back here in March!
