  • 1.  Program Templates are not getting displayed in CA PPM 15.2 New User Experience

We are trying to create Projects from templates in CA PPM 15.2 new user experience. It displays only the Project templates. If we make IS_Program = Yes, it is not getting listed in new user experience templates.

    Is this the expected scenario?

As of 15.8.1 what are others using to support programs in the Modern UX? Within webinars I've seen custom investments, hierarchies using a program custom investments, and channels to classic? Anyone have any tips on managing programs in the modern ux?

There isn't any one right answer to this and will depend on how you define your programs and what is it that you use the construct for.
You could potentially use either 'roadmaps' or 'custom investments' depending on how much control you want to have as well as what all information you want to track at the program level itself.

Had you attended Pemari Academy you would have heard about one approach:

Convert programs to projects, add custom fields, separate blueprints and processes if needed.

Which is (the approach outlined at Pemari academy) a fantastic tactical solution with the right nuts and bolts, if your use case is to simply migrate as-is (sort of) to the new UX.
What I tried to add (perhaps not too well) is that the move to the New UX is an opportunity to rethink the construct of Programs and how they align with an organization's new ways of working (digital/agile transformation).

So you do not want to the same type of concept and functionality with whatever means are there, but want to know what to use instead from what is doable in practice there for maybe a slightly  different object

I ended up creating a custom investment to support programs. Utilizing the hierarchies I created a custom roll-up metric and variance metric to aggregate the planned costs from the child projects and calculate the variance between the planned cost at the program level vs. the project roll-up. Identical custom metrics that Broadcom has shared in webinars. It works very well!
