  • 1.  Will CA7 trigger a job if a dataset is recalled from tape

    Hi,

    I am about to setup a brand new job in CA7 with a new dataset creation as requirement. It would be a GDG generation that is created by an FTP job from a server outside of Mainframes.

    I understand that CA7 triggers this new job once there is a new GDG gen is created in catalog.

    My question is, if someone recalls a migrated GDG gen and re catalog the dataset, will CA7 see it as a new dataset activity and trigger the job again to run it?

    Hi,

    CA 7 looks for SMF type 15 records in order to do dataset tracking (job triggering). If a SMF type 15 record is generated for a HSM recall, CA 7 will track it
    You can use the SASSXU83 to exclude dataset from CA 7 tracking. See link below:
