Can I seek guidance on how to allow this installer to be run on the machine?

    Thank You

    Hey Alex,

there a some solutions when you are administrator of the SEP-Management Console. When not, you need to ask your administrator for help.
You should take a look at Virus and Spyware Protection Policies-->Download Protection
There you can decrease the sensitivity level.

    5 is recommended or typical.

Above Level 5 there is a higher chance for false positives.
Below Level 5 there is a higher chance for not finding or blocking Malware.

You find an explanation of the Levels in the Policy.

You can build a Trusted Web Domain exception in the Exceptions Policy
I do not prefer this, because every Software from this Web Domain is trusted, so you reduce the security in your environment very much.

You can send the URL or the file to Symantec as a false positive:

    https://symsubmit.symantec.com/

It may need two days until the Hash of the file is in the Reputation Database, when the Software is clean.
This is what I would prefer.
Because you do not need to reduce the security level of any policy.

    Have a nice Weekend
