  • 1.  UIM Primary hub disk is full suddenly

    Hi Community,

    We are facing an issue that our primary server disk is keep on full since 2 months frequently. We had increased space on the disk some times but today also we faced same issue that it got full. We have space in Database server however primary server disk is increasing suddenly and disk is full. We are not able to identify why this issue is happening frequently. So kindly suggest how to fix this issue permanently.

    We had identified data_engine size is more than 800GB under hub/q/data_engine. May I know what could be the reason to get this much size and can I delete .sds. files under this folder?

    The folder hub/q/data_engine holds the files that represent the content of the data_engine queue. This is qos data that has been collected but not yet written to the database. These files, if everything is working right, will be small and frequently deleted. The fact that you have a large amount of data here indicates that data_engine isn't processing it.

    In order to correct suggest that you identify why data engine isn't reading data out of these files fast enough.

    These files contain not processed qos metrics.  If having a gap in qos data is not a problem you can delete these .sds files.

    To avoid such problem(s) in the future you can use published tools to monitor the UIM hub/nas queues, do a search on queuecheck. (there are 2 versions, a **** LUA script or a more custom probe version, but both do the same: send alarms/mail in case of queue thresholds)

    Hi Luc,

    Thank you for the response.

    We identified that data_engine is queued up and file transferring is slow down. So, is it because of database issue or something else? can you suggest.

    The DB size is having 500GB free space.

    Do you have the parameter thread_count_insert in  the setup section of your data_engine?
