    Greetings SYSVIEW community!

On behalf of the SYSVIEW product team, we wish to announce that many SYSVIEW data collection metrics were renamed.  We removed the percent % sign from the metric names and replaced it with Pct. The name changes allow SYSVIEW data collection metrics to be more compatible with products, such as the WatchTower Platform. Feature PTF LU15848 delivers these changes to you.

With the metric name changes, you can expect the following behavior:
    • SYSVIEW continues to accept the old metric names and converts them automatically to the new metric names.
    • Eight-character metric name aliases remain unchanged and convert automatically to the new metric names.
    • Definitions in the persistent data store (DATALIB) convert to the new metric names automatically when they are used. SYSVIEW saves the definitions to the DATALIB using the new metric names.

However, we recommend that you evaluate the following configurations and update your site accordingly:
    • Although definitions in parmlib members that contain the old metric names continue to work, we recommend that you update the definitions in your parmlib members manually to use the new metric names.
    • If your site has external to SYSVIEW references to specific 32-character metric names, we recommend that you evaluate the references and determine if they should be updated to use the new metric names. For example, your site has automation for the following WTO messages: GSVC500, GSVC501, GSVX240, GSVX241.

In addition to the renamed metrics, this PTF enhances the METRICS command.

For more information about the renamed metrics and the enhanced METRICS command, see New Features in the SYSVIEW documentation.

Note: The enhancements that are delivered with Feature PTF LU15848 do not apply to SYSVIEW Essentials configurations of SYSVIEW Performance Management.

We value your business and thank you for using SYSVIEW!
