Our AE of V21  is installed in Linux server.

so we would like monitor/control all our process/ agents through graphical interface.

As our Architecture is based out inLinux server, is there any way/possibility can we  install Service Manager/dialog in a local system or in an dedicated windows server

or an 3rd party application where we can control/access all our server process and agents through graphical interface ?

    Thanks in Advance!!!

    Hi

    yes thats possible.

You can run your SMGR Dialog from any WIN PC - using IP or Name from Linux server and SMGR Port - which is in the same network.

    Hi,

per default the ServiceManager is listening on port 8871. Make sure that port is reachable.

Hello, I'm also interested in dealing with the processes in exactly this way. What exactly should the entry in the uc4.smd look like?

    Regards Tim

The port needs to be defined in ucybsmgr.ini with parameter port=

Ok, and the .smd to see the WPs and CPs?

Yes, smd stands for "service manager definitions". It holds the definitions of all the defined Services. That could be AE processes like JCP, WP, REST, JWP or Agents. It can also be used to start the AWI.

:-) Ok, I know that, I just don't know how the .smd has to be filled so that I can see the processes displayed in the service manager GUI.

Can you send a screenshot of your ServiceManager Dialog? Any error message? In general a few prerequisites are necessary:

    *) port reachable
*) CAPKI installed (not mandatory, but recommended)
*) ServiceManager process started and listening on the port (you can double check that by looking at it's log file

    Regards, Markus

Ok, first of all thanks for the help. And then maybe in advance, I don't get an error. I would like to know how I can display all my AE processes (WPs and CPs) in the ServiceManager dialog. My .smd is still empty except for the agent. And I don't know what exactly I have to enter in the .smd so that I can see the processes. Our AE also runs on Unix and I would like to use the Service Manager GUI on Windows. Ports are ok.

This describes how you can use the SMGR to define and create services.

However, the processes are handled on our Unix side.

Is there also a way to just see/monitor the existing processes with the SMGR?

The ServiceManager Dialog can only display the processes if they have been started by the ServiceManager

    Hi,

i checked telnet is working to that server on port 8871 from my desktop!

but when I opened SMD from my desktop and select that particular server , then SMD is not responding.

but SMD is working for other servers, i can see the agents.

what might be issue or how to check logs for this issue ?
