No, ITMS does not provide the ability to natively import SBOM data.
That being said, you could potentially export inventory data from ITMS and correlate it to SBOM data to identify which components are present in your environment.
In addition, you may be able export CVE-ID data associated with available patches and then correlate that data to the results of your inventory/SBOM analysis to identify which patches to distribute.
A few questions for you:
- How many SBOM reports do you have?
- What are some examples of applications for which you have SBOM reports?
- What is the source of the SBOM reports?
- What is the format of the SBOM data that you have?

Subject: SBOM Integration and Vulnerability Management in Symantec Management Platform
Hi Team,
We are working on using SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) reports to improve our software inventory and vulnerability management using Symantec Management Platform Console.
We have a few questions and need guidance:
- Can we import SBOM reports into the Symantec Management Platform Console?
- If yes, how do we import them?
- After import, can we detect software vulnerabilities using the SBOM data? And is it possible to deploy patches or updates based on those findings?
Please share the advice you have on setting this up.
Kindly advise.
Regards,
Sukry
