  • 1.  Powershell script (win job ) stucks in active status

    Hi Team,

    we have an urgent issue, all the Windows jobs having Powershell scripts are not working anymore, even though we can run the script directly in the server PowerShell, it's working perfectly, but when triggering from automic, it's not working anymore. the job gets stuck as active status in AUTOMIC.

    Hi Abhishek,

    Just check whether you setup PowerShell as an interpreter for windows jobs to execute powershell scripts.

    Would you mind to share Agent log file?

    some points you can check as a troubleshooting.

    1) What version of PowerShell you are using in old agent and new agent

    2) what is the UC4 version you are using.

    3) when are you running script directly on server you are running with same user like uc4.

    4) what is the difference between old and new agent.

    what exactly has been changed between the working and the non-working version of the job? From the thread it seems you have upgraded the agent. What exactly is the working and non-working release? Any other changes related to username/password or networking? If you updated the windows agent to the java based OS agent, please make sure you have installed the latest version of the agent.

    There's been a change recently from Microsoft for Sharepoint, I know that some of our teams have had to change their processes to use Powershell 7.  Perhaps this is related.  The admins could run the code manually to upload the documents as an interactive user but not as one logged in via batch.

    You could either try changing the agent to use pwsh.exe instead of ps.exe or add a new external interpreter.  There are other posts elsewhere (not Automic) where the sharepoint module locks up powershell which would also match the behaviour here.

    We ran into something like this recently with an FTP script that seemed to be stuck in active status.  Several fixes were attempted, and one was to add the following immediately after that FTP script.
