Does anyone use this or know what it does? The documentation is sparse and Googling doesn't really yield much information.

    Hi Michele,

I can give some information because I have been dealing with azure devops git integration for months.
this package is a purpose of created to do push, pull versioning between automic and git. we wanted to do git integration, I did some research while I was trying to use this package at first ,but then I gave up because automic has a version control module in itself. i suggest you use automic's own version control integration.

Normally automic's git integration (version control) is available in itself (link : Version Control ) . but such a custom package was made from outside. when I researched the reason, some of my friends said that automic's own version control did not work exactly as desired, but it didn't sound very convincing. i wanted to use this version control module that is in automic itself and I succeeded.

we see that the documentation is very incomplete for version control. i communicated this to broadcom, they said they will fix the documentation. we were able to connect automic to azure devops git via ssh 22 port and we tried actions like push pull successfully for small count of object. i am almost near the end in my own experiments. automic's own version control works for small count of objects, but for example for 10-15k objects we got stuck with a rest timeout in awi,i informed to broadcom and suggest custom workaround, you can workaround this with small adjustments (they may have added it to the knowledgebase). they said that they will release a set new settings parameter variable in new versions (we are waiting for).

in summary, I prefer to use their module rather than the git package. this way you can use all git related rests of automic and make your own pipeline.

Recently, I was asked I stored anything from Automic in Git, but I found it puzzling since I've always relied on version control, which has consistently worked well for me.

We've just started using SSIS Catalog, and I was hoping this might be an agent that integrates Git directly with the catalog, rather than relying on the VSTS/ADO agent and setting up a service account.

The lack of documentation is disappointing, but the community never fails.

    Thanks for your quick replies!

    You are referring to https://marketplace.automic.com/marketplace/browse/git-action-pack

This Action Pack was designed for use with our Continuous Delivery Automation (CDA) product to help orchestrate automated deployment and CI/CD pipeline orchestration use cases. So more for generic software delivery life cycle vs for use with Automic automation content itself.
