  • 1.  PAMSC version to install

    Posted 25 days ago
I have read this KB article on Using PAM SC distributions with unsupported kernels. However, I am still unsure of which version is recommended in the situation described below. The kernel version is slightly higher due to kernel security and/or bug fix update.
Is it appropriate to recommend 14.1.6 for both?

    Hello Ain,

You are correct, you can install 14.1.6 for all the abover Kernel versions.

    Thanks,
    Reatesh.

    Hi Reatesh,
    Thanks for responding.

How about the version to install for Solaris 11.4 SRU67 and later? According to the release note, 14.1.6 is certified to be used with SOLARIS 11.4 SRU65. And based on this KB article, it looks like certification request is required for PAMSC to be used on Solaris 11.4 SRU67 and later, is this correct?
Note that some customers may have postponed Solaris 11.4 patching due to the later Solaris version is not supported to be used with PAMSC.

    Regards,
    Ain

    Hello Ain,

With respect to Solaris 11.4, please do upgrade to SRU 75 or higher and we would be able to provide the SEOS_syscall over a support ticket.

    Thanks,
    Reatesh.

Just to confirm my understanding. This means, the customer can patch their Solaris 11.4 system to SRU85, with the existing PAMSC build, and then request for SEOS_syscall.
    Is this correct?
