  • 1.  oracle probe custom query result

    Posted Feb 06, 2025 05:22 AM

    Hi All

i been running some custom query as monitoring parameter on oracle probe but recently have noticed that one query randomly does not give result on running, i have tried manually running it the result box appears only once in three or fourth attempt

i have checked DB team they ran it locally on DB there also it gives output but takes some time and this query is running fine on all other DB apart from this DB.

so my assumption is that query is taking some time to fetch output and some settings in backend is terminating the run because locally it is fetching result although in some time.

Any ideas what it could be or if any settings can solve it?

    Regards

    Nijin

    Hi Nijin,

Sounds like its a DB performance issue and the DBA should investgate, check the logs, check the acitivity during the query run, check resources used during the run, check the size of the table/# of rows the query is running against, table fragmentation, etc.

    Hi,

agree with Stephen here, would recommend the same.

As a workaround you can try to edit profile settings (eg. SQL timeout value, profile timeout, check interval.. ) - this helped me few times when there were queries taking too long

Would be helpful to share some screenshots)
