Hi Sukry,
I apologize for delay with this issue - spent a lot of time with content team trying to find the combination of Java products (tried 32 and 64 bit version of JRE7, JRE8, JSDK and so on) that may result in previous version of JRE not being uninstalled as expected but none of them resulted in reproduced issue in the controlled environment, updates were always installed and uninstalled successfully.
Have you found steps and/or combination of products that lead to this issue being consistently reproducible?
Comment on another problem that I saw in combination with this issue - if 8u451 version didn't get uninstalled as part of 8u461 version installation it could lead to 8u461 being reported as failed to installed. Confirmed that uninstallation of 8u451 version resolves incorrect detection of 8u461 version installation failure (8u461 version is correctly reported as successfully installed after this).

Hi Sukry,
confirmed with the content team that older versions should be indeed uninstalled during update to a newer version - trying to troubleshoot what could cause a failure in old Java uninstallation.

Hi @Dmitri Gornev,
Good day to you.
This is normal behavior or there some issue with Altiris?
Kindly advise.
Regards,
Sukry

Hi Sukry.
I don't see this behavior with 8u441 to 8u451 update but I believe I was able to reproduce it in 8u451 to 8u461 scenario. Checking with the content team regarding this.
Best regards,
Dmitri.

Hi all,
We have created patch for Java (vesion 8.0 update 451) and deploy to client machine. After patch is installed, we found that both the old version (version 8.0 update 441) and the new version (version 8.0 update 451) are installed on the machine. Previously, after the patch is installed, the old version of JRE is gone. We would like to know if there anything special for this patch and are there any workaround for this issue?
Kindly advise.
Thank you.
Regards,
Sukry
