I'm pleased to announce that Gen now provides communication, protected by TLS encryption, between C-GUI or C/COM Proxy and Gen EJB or TE Servers. This will also add the ability to use authentication credentials (username and password) using Custom SOAP header which may be required to access the SOAP service.
You can find the solutions here:
● Gen 8.6 Solutions & Patches (distributed)
○ See "Add support for https and custom SOAP header with client userid and password using user exit for web service flow", RTN86321, RTR86315, RTL86315, RTI86312
For more information:
● Reference documentation in Gen's 8.6 Tech Docs.
○ Gen Web Services Cooperative Flow to Secure (https) Gen EJB or TE Servers from Gen C Clients
○ CI_WS_DPC_SOAPHEADER_EXIT - Web Services DPC SOAP header User Exit
○ CI_WS_DPC_SOAPHEAD_EXIT - Web Services DPC SOAP header User Exit (Windows)
○ Overriding Communications Support at Execution Time
Did you know? Gen already supports TLS/SSL communications between .NET Proxy and secure servers? Here is that community announcement. If you want more enhancement like this, submit your enhancement ideas on the community, and vote for ideas that impact you.
Note: Gen has moved to a continuous delivery model. To learn more about Broadcom's approach to continuous delivery and maintenance best practices, read HERE.
