    To our valued customers:
The process of exporting a trace using SmartTrace or CTRACE has been simplified in release 13.0 so that you no longer need to create a data set in advance for the exported trace content. When you enter the name of a data set on the Export Packet Trace or Export CTRACE Trace panel:
    • If the data set exists, it is dynamically allocated for the trace you are exporting.
    • If the data set does not exist, NetMaster creates the new data set name (DSN) and then allocates the data set.

Dynamic allocation makes the process of exporting a trace simpler and more efficient and saves you the effort of having to manually allocate the data set.

For more information on exporting a trace, see Export a SmartTrace or Export a CTRACE Trace.
To update NetMaster with the new dynamic data set allocation functionality, apply PTF LU15561.
