    Hi Community,
What is the maximum Data Retention period we can set in Spectrum and PM for Raw data(As-Polled), one hour and one-day data for fault, event and performance data? Please suggest me!

The docs show how many days we keep as-polled data and hourly, daily, weekly rolled up data.
The docs explain how to increase as-polled days.  NOTE: make sure to have the space to store the extra days.

The sizer https://ftpdocs.broadcom.com/WebInterface/phpdocs/7/8568/sizer/index.html  has settings to configure how many days to store data for.  Fill in your device count and adjust the snmp monitoring numbers to generate poll item count you have, so it can figure out how much disk space you need in vertica for increased as-polled days.

By default SPECTRUM has 2 databases: Archive Manager (DDMDB) and ReportManager (SRMDB). ArchiveManager has a default storage period of 45 days. This is controlled under $SPECROOT/SS/DDM/.configrc with parameter MAX_EVENT_DAYS.

Report Manager has some built-in system that makes recommendation on storage period for events/alarms, based on previous activity. This is controlled via OneClick Web interface, under Administration->Report Manager->Archive Expert (for estimates) and Administration->Report Manager->Preferences (Data Retention Period (days) - Transformed Tables and Data Retention Policy).

Is hard to make estimates on both of these values, as there are 100% depending of the number of device/models and the number of traps that the Spectrum system has to process.

    Many Thanks for your suggestions..

@Catalin Farcasanu, As you mentioned it's depending up on the devices/models, we have 4000+ devices to be monitored. So, Can you please suggest how many days we can set data retention for Archive Manager and Report Manager.

    Thanks in advance!

There used to be a sizer available, ages ago. I haven't used it recently. It was available here. Try to get access to it and see what it provides.

Again, Archive Manager as a default of 45 days. I usually don't touch this value, as the DB can get big fast and the OneClick console tends to be slow. For the Report Manager you can choose to keep events for up to a year and then backup the db to keep on a different server, or you can purge the events altogether. The links provided earlier by Mahesh would be a reference to what I explained earlier.
