  • 1.  Management Agent Lost alarms clear after right-click

    Hello everyone,

    I have a strange situation in hands. 

    I have a bunch of devices that have Management Agent Lost alarms and when I just click them (the device, not the alarm), it clears.

    Did anyone come across this?

    Spectrum Version: 10.4.0.0.95 on a Linux server

    Client: Windows 11 using java version that come with the Spectrum Version (Oneclick)

    Are these devices managed using snmpv3? If so, you might try clearing the v3 cache by doing the following CLI command on the SpectroSERVER:

    ./update action=0x10333 mh=<mh_of_VNM>

    As I am sure you are aware, Spectrum 10.4.0.0.95 is end of support.

    Hello Joe,

    Thanks for the answer.

    This is not the case, the devices are all in V1 or V2c.

    Yes, we are aware that it reached EOS sometime ago. An update is being studied but not for the moment and we need to release our NOC from unnecessary alarms.

    Try also tuning the communication parameters. Increase either the timeout values or number of retries.

    Thanks for the info Catalin, no such luck, the only difference is that the alarms take more time to re-appear.

    Bruna,

    Also try running a sniffer (wireshark on Windows or tcpdump on Linux) to see the snmp leave Spectrum and if/how the devices are responding. As Catalin stated, could be a latency and increasing the DCM Timeout may resolve.

    Thanks for the tip Joe, currently I don´t have access to the spectroservers and I can not do that (sniffing).
